How the Dems Define "Middle Class"

The Democrat-proposed "stimulus package" (read: welfare package) makes it clear what the Democrats mean when they use the term "middle class." Barney Frank summed it up:

The idea is "give the middle class and the average citizen the same kind of relief that we try to give the financial sector."

The vast majority of the money would be used for jobless benefits, food stamps and construction jobs given out by the government. It's pretty clear that what Democrats refer to as "middle class" is the welfare class. Extending this to Obama, it's not hard to see why he says the middle class will do well under his proposals - he's going to increase the size of welfare payments. As for the real middle class that works and pays taxes, you're out of luck.
