Gitmo Photos: Credibility is Already Lost

We have to ask ourselves, "What in the world was Obama thinking" when he demanded that Gitmos photos be released to the public. He's already apologized to the world for US actions over the past 1, 5, 10, 250 years. The release of photos would have been the ultimate apology to the whole world, and an admittance that the US is really a horrible nation. Obama had been advocating releasing these photos for months.

Now he suddenly has thought it through and has seen the light? Is that it? Or does he think this is something that will hurt him politically, and this is why the change in thought. To me, the damage is already done. Yes, it's great that he's ultimately come to the correct conclusion, but it's also pretty carelessly zany and thoughtless that he believed this was a great idea in the first place.

Maybe it's part of Obama's being - where it takes the guy time to figure out what's wright and wrong - as in the 20 years it took him to figure out Jeremiah Wright. Hey - I welcome both instances where he ultimately comes to the Right conclusion.

But can we be blamed if we believe that this is just a politically calculated decision and that the inner Obama still believes deep down that we should still release the photos?
