Dodd and Dorgan Won't Run Again

Two democratic senators have decided not to seek re-election. Call me crazy, but I actually think this is a positive for democrats. Dodd was incredibly corrupt and belongs behind bars. The thing that probably saved him is other democrats, including the president, were not willing to go tackle corruption in their own party. He would have not only lost his seat anyway, but could have possibly dragged down other democrats. I have no idea about Dorgan.

Dems are extremely unpopular at the moment especially after healthcare reform and unprecedented (as obama would say) spending. But if the incumbents decide to retire, then Republicans can't really use that against the new guy. It's a smart move (for dems) and at the same time gives them some time to find a new candidate.
