U.S. Says No to Iran Security Guarantee

In response to Mohammed El-Baradei's wish (or perhaps because of it) for the U.S. to offer Iran a security guarantee, the U.S. responded that "the issue was not what the US would do, but what Iran would do, to allay the international concerns."

This is the only sensible answer to El-Baradei, who continues to say that Iran's nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes. It's amusing how the Europeans and IAEA want to handle the Iran negotiations themselves to prove that they are "grown ups," only to have the U.S. clean up the mess when they finish.
