Majority Supports Private Social Security Accounts

President Bush's press conference yesterday included a question by a reporter who asked why Bush is still pursuing private Social Security accounts when the American public "seems opposed" to them. Perception becomes reality in the MSM, but fortunately Bush corrected the reporter.

Zogby's latest poll shows that a majority of Americans support private accounts (52% to 40%) despite all the rhetoric against them. Interestingly, by an overwhelming margin (70% to 22%), people believe Democrats must come up with a plan of their own instead of simply obstructing.
