Carter: A Profile of Nonsense

The worst President in US history gives an interview with Mother Jones. In it, Carter discusses his belief that the true danger to the U.S. are the Christian "fundamentalists," who he portrays Satanically in their support of Bush's unjust War on Terror. Here are just a few of the ridiculous quotes from the interview:

"Jimmy Carter is without doubt one of the most active and influential ex-presidents in American history." (Yeah...)

"Now, I don't think there's any doubt that the elementary principle of fundamentalism has existed for ages, and it obviously permeates other religions as well, such as Islam and Hinduism and others." (The implication that Christian "fundamentalism" is as bad as the Islamofascism.)

"But my own belief is that no one in the top levels in Washington now intends to ever pull all the American troops from Iraq." (We just want oil and to extend our imperialism.)

"I believe that if American troops withdrew, almost immediately the level of violence would decrease." (And the world will be perfect, just like it was when he was President.)

"It used to be that within USAID, we had experts employed by the U.S. government who made sure the money was spent wisely and efficiently. Now that money goes almost exclusively to American contractors who set up offices in foreign countries. They receive the money and dole it out with enormous waste." (We need to give it directly to the efficient users, like the UN and/or corrupt governments.)

Gotta love Carter - he's still the patriarch of the Democratic Left.
