Caught in Ethical Problem, Sen. Conrad Makes Donation

Democrat Senator Kent Conrad said that he will donate $10,500 to Habitat for Humanity after it was disclosed publicly that he received preferential treatment on a loan from Countrywide. He said that he had no idea he received preferential treatment or that it was a conflict of interest. Sen. Chris Dodd will likely say the same thing. Of course, ignorance of conflicts of interest are no excuse.

Let this be a lesson to bank robbers - if you get caught, just donate the money to charity and everything is ok.
