SEC Bans Short Selling in Financial Stocks

The SEC made the dramatic step of banning short-selling in 799 financial stocks. I don't know if this dramatic step was needed or not, but if you are currently short, you are in big, big trouble today. I don't think anyone will be crying for the shorts though, after their ability to successfully destroy several large firms. Here is the Schindler's list of the 799 stocks. (Someone screwed up in coming up with that list because they included some but excluded others, but that's another story.)
