Suicide Bombing Stymies Obama's "Success" Story in Afghanistan

Just a few days after Obama trumpetted his success over Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, we have a major civilian bombing at a prominent hotel in Kabul.

I'm aware that declaring success in a war is a losing proposition and that one incident can make a liar out of anybody, and maybe this isn't exactly fair.

At the same time, other than Osama's death, what are the successes of Obama's " double surge" in Afghanistan taking US troop levels from 30,000 to 100,000? I don't believe he's addressed this. Don't worry, the media won't ever ask him.
