White Students Protest Speech at NJ Catholic School

Hat tip to Dummocrats for the link. White students at Pius VI Catholic school in Haddon, NJ walked out of classes on Tuesday to protest a speech given by NJ Secretary of State Regina Thomas in which she accused white students of being racist. Thomas, appointed by Gov. Jim McGreevey (of JibJab's "I'm gay" fame), formerly worked for Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition and the Democratic National Committee. Fortunately for Thomas, a text of her transcript is not available, according to her spokesperson, Regina Wilder.

Even faculty members were taken aback by what they called an overly confrontational and disrespectful approach. "We were basically, like, accused of being racist (by the secretary)," a white student said.
Dilly Blog has an interesting take on the incident:
I think it underscores a larger problem on the left when it comes to promoting racism, rather than fighting against it. In their minds diversity still has to do with skin color rather than character, philosophical belief, religious belief, or political affiliation. The left is still reacting to the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement, for that is when they found purpose.... In truth most Americans are well past the time of racism and the left still hasn’t caught up with us yet.
