Fallujah Sheikh Says Al Zarqawi Dead

Iraqi Sunni sheikh, Ammar Abdel Rahim Nasir, has told the Saudi on-line newspaper Al-Medina that Al Zarqawi has died. Nasir claims that gunfights that broke out in Fallujah over the last few days involved militants trying to protect Zarqawi's tomb from a group of American soldiers patrolling the area.

The Al-Medina newspaper reports that it also called the headmaster of a school in Fallujah, who preferred to remain anonymous, but confirmed that many people in the city were aware of the fact that al-Zarqawi had recently been taken to the city.

An interesting story, but I'll believe it when I see his head paraded around Baghdad.

*Update*
Yet another report that Zarqawi might be dead. Again, I'll believe it when I see it. Still, it's always good news when any terrorist dies - Zarqawi or not.
