CIA Leaker McCarthy Will Still Receive Pension

The Washington Post is again defending recently-fired CIA analyst Mary McCarthy by writing a piece from McCarthy's friends' viewpoints. The point of the article is that McCarthy believed that the CIA lied to Congress about behavior that she considered to be cruel and/or inhumane. However, the article then spends most of its effort defending McCarthy's work and stressed that McCarthy was not an "ideologue," at least according to an "anonymous source." The most bothersome fact, mentioned in the last paragraph of the article, is that McCarthy will still receive her pension. This, despite the fact that she was fired for leaking highly classified information to the press that likely endangered national security. Just another example of outrageous government entitlement.
