Katrina Charity to Host Democrat Convention Party

The Friends of New Orleans, a charity designed to help Katrina victims rebuild their homes and lives, is hosting the welcoming party for Democrats in Denver at the convention. [Interestingly, Friends of New Orleans was founded by Clinton friend James Carville.]

The part [sic] will commemorate "the recovery and rebuilding of areas affected by Hurricane Katrina in lieu of individual delegate welcoming events," according to a news release. The Friends of New Orleans will host the event, to be held Sunday, Aug. 24.
