Gustav Downgraded; RNC Cautious

Can you say "overhyped?" Gustav has been downgraded to a Category 1 storm, but the RNC already cancelled today's events at the Republican National Convention, including speeches by Bush and Cheney. I think Gustav was a convenient excuse for McCain to reduce media exposure that he is, in fact, a Republican.

This will mean fewer GOP speakers and less media attention, all because the Republicans are afraid of being branded as uncaring. The Democrats would never have done such a thing.
