Rather: Documents Real; Do Whatever it Takes to "Get Them"

Truly amazing; Dan Rather has determined that the sky is not blue and he stuck by his story last night on Larry King.
KING: As you reflect, and after seeing the report, what went wrong in your matter on the Air National Guard story? Where along the way did it snap?

RATHER: Without agreeing with the premise of whether it snapped or not.....

KING: Are you saying the story might be correct?

RATHER: Well, I’m saying a prudent person might take that view.

KING: Do you have that view?

RATHER: Well, I’m saying a prudent person might take that view.

Later in the interview, Rather expressed his belief that Mark Felt is a hero:

I think the country owes Katherine Graham, Ben Bradlee, Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein and Mark Felt a debt of gratitude for what they did. Because I repeat for emphasis this was people believing they were above the constitution, they were above the law and they were very nearly pulling it off. And whatever it took to get them, that is to expose them, to bring it into the sunlight, I don't think you could applaud enough.

Now we know why Rather had no problem going with the Bush National Guard story with fake documents.
