Iran to Seek Seat on New UN Human Rights Council

Since the only criteria to being on the new UN Human Rights body, Iran has declared itself a candidate, with a good chance of being elected as one of the 32 nations that are exemplars of human rights.

In addition to Iran, it appears that Russia, China and Cuba will also hold seats on the council. No word yet on Sudan, Zimbabwe, Venezuela or Saudi Arabia.
