The Illegal Immigration Bill and the Expat Tax Increase

Many people still don't realize it, but the "comprehensive immigration" bill passed by the Senate last week is unconstitutional because of a tax increase inserted into the bill late in the process. The amendment essentially raises the taxes of thousands of American ex-pats living abroad. Rep. Bill Thomas, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, pointed out that any revenue bill must originate in the House. Robert Novak has more here.
