Iraq Polling Improves - As if it Matters
As goes the Iraq War, so goes the public's approval of Bush and the war.
None of this matters to Bush, of course. I'm confident he will stay the course even if approval ratings slipped to single digits. For the MSM, however, these polls are like the Alamo - if they go much higher, so too does their approval of Bush policies.
CNN is doing its best to prevent that from happening. It headlines the poll with, "Poll: Most still think Iraq war a mistake" ...and praying that the public still thinks we are failing.
The new poll found that 48% believe the United States probably or definitely will win the war, up from 39% in April. It also found that 47% believe things are going well in Iraq, up from 38% in March.
