Failure

So the bill has failed, with 133 Republicans and 95 Democrats voting against the plan. Let the spin begin about who's fault it is.

I will say this - Pelosi is a complete and total failure. She began slamming and insulting Republicans even as they were debating, thus alienating anyone on the fence. And then she couldn't even corral another 12 Democrats to pass the measure. Leadership?

Btw, where is Barack Obama? Doesn't he have influence with House Democrats? Why is he absent? (No, McCain has never had much pull with House Conservatives.)

Apparently Pelosi decided to ad lib from the prepared remarks. Take it from Obama - don't ad lib - ever. Just read what someone else wrote for you and you won't sound like a complete idiot.

Obama issues a statement from Colorado on the campaign trail: "Democrats, Republicans, step up to the plate, get it done." Thanks BO - that should get the job done.
