Paul Wins CPAC Straw Poll

I'll say this for Ron Paul - even though he's a complete kook and does not generally represent conservative views, he has a bunch of loyal followers. He won the CPAC straw poll this weekend with 31 percent of the vote. Mitt Romney placed a strong second with 22 percent. I think Paul supporters (mainly young students) were organized and attended the conference in force this year. Absent the Paul kooks, it seems like Romney was the clear favorite.

Unfortunately, having a bunch of truthers and birthers in what Paul claims to be a "conservative" viewpoint is not helpful to conservatives who base their opinions on fact rather than conspiracy.
