Patrick Kennedy's Argument for Private Social Security Accounts
In the same press conference, Kennedy also made a strong argument for private social security accounts, even if he didn't realize it. When asked about his treatment, Kennedy responded:
Of course, members of Congress also don't belong to the "Social Security fund" either. Instead, they contribute to their own personal accounts and have various investment choices including bond, stock and other funds (which is the main reason there is no social security emergency.) Hmm...good point, Patches.
I have insurance. I've always paid for my own insurance. And I will say this, however, though: If you're a member of Congress, you have mental health parity, including drugs and alcohol treatment.
And, you know, what? It's funny, members of Congress give it to themselves but they don't give it to any other American.
