EU Lifts Cuba Ban; Desire to Drill of FL Coast?

The EU lifted its sanctions against Cuba in defiance of U.S. wishes. Although European countries enjoy sticking their fingers in the eyes of the U.S. whenever possible, I believe the bigger factor was oil drilling off of Florida's coast. Apparently the lifting of sanctions was heavily pushed by Spain, which is already drilling between Florida and Cuba, courtesy of Fidel. I have no doubt that BP and TotalFinaElf would love to get a piece of that action as well.

Meanwhile, the U.S. will sit back and watch as the Euros drill our oil and then sell it to us for $135/barrel.
