Shocker: GDP Growth "Less than Expected"

Does anyone else get tired of seeing these headlines "less than expected" when associated with economic activity under Obama?  As I expected, GDP growth of 2.2% is "less than the expected" 2.7% growth.

After record stimulus spending by Obama, this is a devastatingly awful recovery, if you can call it that.  Must be Bush's fault...

Obama Booed At Fenway Park

President Obama apparently received a loud chorus of boos when he appeared on the big video screen for a brief time to commemorate Fenway's 100th anniversary.  Unfortunately, no one seems to have the video since it was before the game.

Keep in mind - this isn't the South - it's the heart of liberalism.  Granted, there are probably a lot more males than females, and he is not well liked by males.  But still - it takes a lot to get booed so badly in Boston.  Apparently the other videos (from Conan, Mark Wahlberg, Dennis Leary) were well received.

Weekly Jobless Claims Not Looking Good

Remember late last year when everyone was worried about the economy? Then in January and February the jobs numbers in the US looked mildly better (probably due to a warmer winter). Well, the first two weeks in April looked pretty bad. Regarding the initial jobless claims, we're back to December levels.

Hillary Rosen Similar to Hillary Clinton

When Obama advisor Hillary Rosen slammed Ann Romney for "never working a day in her life," this reminded me of another famous Democrat: Hillary Clinton.

Remember when she said she wouldn't be:

some little woman standing by my husband like Tammy Wynette...I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas, but what I decided to do was fulfill my profession, which I entered before my husband was in public life.

Hillary made this comment 20 years ago, and democrats still feel like it demeans women if they stay at home to look after their own children. To many of them, it seems to them like such a backwards notion which puts women in a second-class citizen role.

How does President Obama feel about this? It goes without saying that he probably agrees with Hillary Rosen, his advisor. And of course, President Obama could not pass up this opportunity to continue his warlike rhetoric on wealthy people. Michelle "couldn't afford to stay at home" on his $162,000/year salary. Ironically, if he had implemented his wish of 50% tax rates for high income earners, certainly his wife could not have afforded to stay at home as the government would have been taking half, instead of 30%!

Quick Thought on Ann Romney Attack

Sure, another GOP woman is attacked by a Democrat operative for not having the right to speak out on the economy because she raised kids instead of worked.

If that's the case, then Obama has no right to work on the economy either because neither he nor 60% of his administration has ever held a private sector job either.

GSA Scandal is Peanuts Compared to Obama

OK. I'll first say I know almost nothing about the latest GSA scandal. What I know is that 300 federal employees took a trip to Vegas and the bill came to about $2700 per person, or $800K in total.

So $800K is $800,000. It isn't $800 million (an amount similar to what Obama spent on Solyndra which went belly-up). It's isn't $800 billion which was the the amount of Obama's first failed stimulus program. And it's not $8 trillion, which is about the amount Obama will have added to our national debt by the time he's done (actually closer to $6 trillion, but close enough).

Yes, $800K is REAL money. But not in Obama land. It's a speck of sand on the beach in his world. Michelle Obama spent half this amount just to go on vacation in Spain (ie. there was no work involved). The Obamas recently spent $4 million to go on vacation in Hawaii. The president himself spent $170MM on his own inauguration.

My point is that if we're looking to stop corruption and wasteful spend, we need to start at the top of the government, not the bottom. Sure, every penny counts, but for the president's inauguration, he spent $47,222 PER SECOND of taxpayer money. Where's the outrage?

O'Keefe 1; Holder 0

James O'Keefe strikes again. This time, he walks into a Washington DC precinct where AG Eric Holder lives, says he is Eric Holder and the poll worker is ready to hand him a ballot with no ID whatsoever.

But Holder says there is no need for voter ID laws. Hilarious.

Was Eric Holder Right About Not Having a Race Discussion?

John Derbyshire, a conservative columnist and occasional contributor to National Review, was recently involuntarily retired by NRO for his recent provocative article on race and racial politics in TAKI magazine. (I've never heard of it either.) His most controversial point was that there is a higher percentage of blacks than whites with very low IQs. Interestingly, he linked to another source that suggested this point, but his mere mention of it shows an apparent agreement, which is a definite no-no for journalists (and all Americans for that matter).

No doubt that many people will find the subject of race very controversial and not worth the risk of even approaching it. (What gain is there for anyone to discuss it, particularly if you are white?) From that standpoint, Eric Holder was right that we don't want to talk about race. And for good reason - it puts an easy target on your back.

Surprise: Fairfax County Teacher Tells Students "Republicans are Stupid"

This is what passes for education these days. At Powell Elementary School in Fairfax, VA, liberal Democrat teacher Linda Martin tells her students that she doesn't like Republicans because they are "stupid."

Pathetic - and people wonder why many think that teachers are nothing but liberal indoctrinators.
