Bill Would Require Gay History

California's state Senate will consider a bill that would require classrooms to teach students about all the contributions gays have had on U.S. history. The bill would also require schools to purchase textbooks that accurately portray "the sexual diversity of our society."

Gay or straight, is it really relevant to teach our students who historical figures sleep with? Perhaps teachers should also begin their classes by introducing themselves as straight or gay and then take a poll in every class.
