The Leak: Much Ado About Nothing
The Democrats are panting with excitement. According to (leaked) grand jury testimony, President Bush authorized Dick Cheney's chief of staff, Lewis Libby, to speak with a reporter about certain portions of classified information that dealt with Iraq's attempted uranium purchases.
Of course, you probably will not hear this on CNN tonight:
This is complete nonsense. We've been through this story too many times to rehash it again. Joe Wilson is a political hack who, the Senate Intelligence Committee confirmed, concocted his Niger story. And Bush decided to defend false allegations. Nevertheless, this will be the top story for the MSM for the next week.
"In light of today's shocking revelation, President Bush must fully disclose his participation in the selective leaking of classified information. The American people must know the truth," said Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.
"The fact that the president was willing to reveal classified information for political gain and put the interests of his political party ahead of Americas security shows that he can no longer be trusted to keep America safe," Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said.

Nothing in the papers indicate Bush or Cheney told Libby to reveal the name of CIA analyst Valerie Plame, nor do they suggest that either the president or vice president did anything illegal.
